Another Purrfect Fun Day at Bluebell Ridge

Cat lovers are invited to come along and support the Bluebell Ridge Cat Rehoming Centre at their Open Day on Sunday 2 August from 11:30am till 3pm.

This free event is a great family day out and visitors will have the chance to meet the cats at the centre and see the valuable work undertaken there. Funds raised on the day will go towards the animals in their care.

There will be a host of activities to keep cat lovers and children busy, including a chance to talk to our knowledgeable volunteers and meet the cats. There will also be a variety of stalls, including raffles, tombola, home made cakes and refreshments.

We also have some fun games for the children which include hook the duck, find the
treasure, cat and mouse game and much more.

Myra Grove, Cattery Manager for Bluebell Ridge said: Wed love as many people as
possible to come along and support our work. We always look forward to opening our doors to the public on our open days as its a chance for people to have fun while meeting some of the cats that we care for.

Bluebell Ridge is owned and operated by the Sussex East and Hastings branch of the
RSPCA. It is a separate charity within the national body and is entirely self-financing.
Each year the branch has to raise more than 150,000 so it relies on the support of the public to continue its vital work.

Money raised on the day will go towards looking after cats like Skittles and Bubbles. The pair were abandoned and found on a doorstep, but thankfully they were brought to Bluebell Ridge. Seven year old Skittles and Bubbles are the longest residents at the cattery and they are looking for a nice quiet home to call their own. They are a sweet pair who love a lot of attention and always want a good head scratch. If you would like to give Skittles and Bubbles a home then please contact Bluebell Ridge.

The open day will be taking place at the Bluebell Ridge Centre at Chowns Hill in Hastings.

For more information on the open day please contact Myra Grove on 01424 752121.

Black DSH male, 10 years old approx.Jingles is a sweet, gentle lad with different coloured eyes, making him very unique. He can be a little shy initially, but when used to his surroundings, gains in confidence and enjoys a gentle fuss. He would make a good companion cat and would ideally prefer one-on-one attention or a calm, quiet household where he can be himself and develop his loving character. He would also like to be the only pet of the household. Provisional Reserve
DSH Black female, 5-6 years old. Hettie is a very beautiful girl with a stunning jet-black coat. She is looking for a home where she will enjoy plenty of outdoor access but can also benefit from home comforts and general ongoing care. Hettie can be affectionate and playful but remains unpredictable as she has an independent side, so she would suit a home where she can choose the comfort of indoors or explore the outdoors in a large garden or small holding. She requires an experienced cat owner who can work with her behavioral problems. With time she may possibly become more settled with her new owners and will require attention on her own terms. She is very sensitive to sudden movements and noise within the home, so would be best in a quiet environment without other cats or young children.
Tortie DLH female, 10 1/2 years old.Bootzie is an elegant looking girl who would suit a quiet and calm house with no other pets, she would benefit from a routine to help her settle. Bootzie is shy and unsure of new people. She needs an owner who understands that it may take her a long time to become comfortable in a new home. She is very affectionate on her terms, she like to rub round your legs and hands. We have found she likes to be the one to make contact with us, but can panic when she is touched in return if she's not expecting it.
