Michael Raises £715 for Bluebell Ridge

Cat lover Michael raised £715 for Bluebell Ridge by running the Hastings Half Marathon on Sunday 19th March.

Michael was planning on raising £250 for the Centre, but he quickly started receiving sponsorship money from friends and family and ended up raising over double the amount.

The charity is personal to him as 3 years ago he brought Zelma home after she had been in the cattery for over two years due to her 'fiery' personality. She is now very much a home cat and enjoys a lap to sit on albeit on her own terms!

Myra Grove, Centre Manager of Bluebell Ridge, said "We are extremely grateful to Michael for raising this money. Taking on a half marathon can be a big challenge and the weather on the day was horrendous. Bluebell Ridge is entirely self-financed so we rely on the support of lovely people like Michael to help us continue our vital work."

If you would like to help raise money for Bluebell Ridge, please email bluebellridge@outlook.com or you can visit our Get Involved page for some fundraising ideas.

Black DSH male, 10 years old approx.Jingles is a sweet, gentle lad with different coloured eyes, making him very unique. He can be a little shy initially, but when used to his surroundings, gains in confidence and enjoys a gentle fuss. He would make a good companion cat and would ideally prefer one-on-one attention or a calm, quiet household where he can be himself and develop his loving character. He would also like to be the only pet of the household.
White DSH, male, 10 years old.Smirnoff is a loveable and delightful chap, who is full of affection. Although he can be a little shy in new surroundings, he quickly comes forward for attention and fuss. He loves to have his beautiful thick coat groomed and has a lovely loud purr as soon as any attention comes his way. He is looking for a loving home on the quieter side where he can chill out and snuggle up with someone. He needs to be the only pet of the household.
Tortie DLH female, 10 1/2 years old.Bootzie is an elegant looking girl who would suit a quiet and calm house with no other pets, she would benefit from a routine to help her settle. Bootzie is shy and unsure of people and as such would need an owner who understands that it may take her a long time to become comfortable in a new home.
