Coffee Morning raises over £200

Cat lovers enjoyed a lovely morning in the sunshine to help raise funds for Bluebell Ridge on Tuesday 2 May.

Bluebell Ridge saw a great turnout for their first coffee morning at the centre, which raised over £200 for the cat rehoming centre in Hastings.

The public had the chance to enjoy home-made cakes, walk along the bluebells and visit the cats that are looking for their furrever homes.

Nikki Hawes, Income Generation & Marketing Officer for Bluebell Ridge said: “Thank you to everyone who supported our first coffee morning and also to our supporters who kindly made delicious home-made treats.  We have never been able to hold a coffee morning at the centre before, due to the lack of undercover space. However, last year we were kindly given funding to purchase covers for our gazebo, which now means that we have a fantastic space to hold events – rain or shine.”

Due to the interest and success of the coffee morning, the centre plans on holding another one in a few months’ time – with a date to be announced soon.

DSH Black female, 5-6 years old. Hettie is a very beautiful girl with a stunning jet-black coat. She is looking for a home where she will enjoy plenty of outdoor access but can also benefit from home comforts and general ongoing care. Hettie can be affectionate and playful but remains unpredictable as she has an independent side, so she would suit a home where she can choose the comfort of indoors or explore the outdoors in a large garden or small holding. She requires an experienced cat owner who can work with her behavioral problems. With time she may possibly become more settled with her new owners and will require attention on her own terms. She is very sensitive to sudden movements and noise within the home, so would be best in a quiet environment without other cats or young children.
Black DSH male, 10 years old approx.Jingles is a sweet, gentle lad with different coloured eyes, making him very unique. He can be a little shy initially, but when used to his surroundings, gains in confidence and enjoys a gentle fuss. He would make a good companion cat and would ideally prefer one-on-one attention or a calm, quiet household where he can be himself and develop his loving character. He would also like to be the only pet of the household. Provisional Reserve
Tortie DLH female, 10 1/2 years old.Bootzie is an elegant looking girl who would suit a quiet and calm house with no other pets, she would benefit from a routine to help her settle. Bootzie is shy and unsure of new people. She needs an owner who understands that it may take her a long time to become comfortable in a new home. She is very affectionate on her terms, she like to rub round your legs and hands. We have found she likes to be the one to make contact with us, but can panic when she is touched in return if she's not expecting it.
