Alison Raises £785 for Bluebell Ridge

Cat lover Alison raised £785 for Bluebell Ridge by running the Hastings Half Marathon and receiving support from friends and local businesses.

Alison, who is also a volunteer at the centre, had never taken part in a half marathon before, so she was very happy to complete the race in 2 hours and 36 minutes.

She said: "Queensway and The Ridge were no problem, when I hit the seafront there was a very strong head wind and it was really hard
work - it felt like I was running on the spot at times! I had support all the way around the course and it was lovely to hear people cheering 'Good work RSPCA', which I really appreciated."

Alison and the centre would like to say a big thank you to Arcade Hair and The Clown for holding a collection and The Clarence for holding a quiz night and collection to help raise much needed funds.

If you would like to help raise money for Bluebell Ridge, please email bluebellridge@outlook.com or you can visit our Get Involved page for some fundraising ideas.

Mini - Black and white DSH female, 2 years old.Nala - Tabby DSH female, 5 months oldMini and Nala are a gorgeous mother and daughter pair, who are very bonded here in the cattery, and are therefore looking for a home together. They are affectionate and sociable. Nala is a bit more confident than her mum. They can often be found cosied up together in their bed, blissful in each other's company. Nala will need close supervision on trips out to a secure garden, and would benefit from someone being home a lot of the day. Mini can have more free reign, and have free access to the garden. They will be lovely companions, a joy to have around. They need an older family with no other pets.
DSH Black female, 5-6 years old. Hettie is a very beautiful girl with a stunning jet-black coat.  She can be affectionate and playful and also has an independent side. Hettie would like an older family with no young children or other pets, that will give her the time and care that she needs to adapt to her new environment.  She is very sensitive to sudden movements and noise within the home, so would need a quiet and calm home.
Black DSH male, 3 years old. Peter has a lot of character and he has been through the wars a bit in his previous life and needs some after care. He has been moved from place to place and would really love to find a caring home where he can be loved and looked after.
Tabby shorthaired 1 year old.Savannah is a lovely looking cat who is very active and inquisitive. She is a friendly girl who also likes to have her own freedom. Would be better suited to an older family without young children.
