The branch does not have kennel facilities but runs a home from home service and always has dogs urgently requiring new homes.

Please ring Ann for advice, help or to offer a dog a home.

Telephone (01424) 813434 between 10am and 6pm only, 7 days a week.

These are just some of the dogs looking for new homes.

Blue

Staffie cross - dog - 12 months old - colour: Irish blue cross - leggy boy - fully vacinated and microchipped. Okay with older children. Blue is a lovely boy and much loved by his owner but sadly due to her son's serious illness she is having to travel to London frequently which means Blue is left alone and there is no-one to take him out and give him the exercise he needs. Blue needs to be rehomed ASAP purely for Blue's sake.

Bubbles

Border Collie - Bitch - 2 years old - Tri-colour long coat - Spayed and inoculated - Okay with other dogs but not to be homed with cats, also okay around horses. Bubbles is a typical very nice Border Collie. This is a very special breed as anyone who has had Border Collies will know and therefore Bubbles can only go to someone who has had this breed before.

Guy

Yorkie x Staffie - dog - 4 months old - Brownish colour - Dear little dog, sadly his young owner is no longer able to keep him and we need to home this dear little boy ASAP.

Maddie

Border Collie cross - Bitch - 20 months old - Microchipped - Maddie is a nervous girl due to the fact that in her earlier life she did not receive puppy treatment. At present she is in foster care living with another dog. NOT WITH CATS! Needs sympathetic handling. Although a cross Maddie has more Border Collie traits. She is a truly lovely dog and would suit someone who has had Border Collies before and/or has either a large garden or space where she can enjoy the outside.

Minty

German Spitz Mittel - Dog - 23 months old - orange/sable & white - castrated, inoculated and microchipped. A few months ago Minty was rescued by his present owner from an unsuitable situation where he was caged and teased by small children. He is a lovely boy and ideally should go to someone who UNDERSTANDS THE NEEDS OF THIS BREED and where there are no small children or cats in the family. We think Minty would enjoy the company of someone who can give him lots of time, patience and love.

Poppy

Staffie x - Bitch - 5 months old - Brown/Brindle - long legged - okay with children and other dogs. This is a really nice little pup whose owner is sadly very ill and unable to look after her dog. Poppy would suit a family situation, she needs some training of course, but anyone who enjoys this lovely breed will love Poppy.

Rasti

Border Collie - dog - 6 years old - White and Black long coat - living with another dog and two cats at the moment. Unfortunately Rasti's owner is very ill and unable to give Rasti the attention he needs. He needs to rehome Rasti as soon as possible ideally to someone who has had Border Collies before and in a perfect world to a retired couple.

Winston

Husky cross cross Rottie - dog - 16 months old - Black and Tan. Not castrated, fully inoculated. Winston has been with us for 6 months and in that time no-one has been to see this beautiful boy. Ideally he is looking for a home where there are no children, in fact he would suit a single owner. He is a strong boy who needs lots of confidence building and a loving but firm handler. Anyone who has had either of these breeds will understand his needs. We do feel that having him castrated will help a little calm his exuberance.

Happily Homed Dogs

Solo, a young alsation, in a field of bluebells.

Solo

Solo, a young alsation, found tied up to a lamp-post with twine round his neck.  Very sad, and he was in bad condition. It took some weeks to gain his confidence and re-introduce him to the human race, also for him to realise that some of us were good people.  Well he found good people, a local farm where he has found new doggy friends, huge freedom and mountains of friends.

Libby as a puppy, and Libby as a young dog with her new friend.

Libby

A bag of dead puppies was handed in but one puppy had survived, she was weaned and looked after.  It was thought she was between 4-5 weeks old and a Yorkie!   Wrong, the first photo is Libby at 7 weeks, and the second photo shows her 18 months on with her new friend “Charley”.

Purdii relaxing

Purdii

Purdii was found wandering the streets, cold, dirty and underweight.  He has been rehomed with a lovely family who already had “Tinker” another Yorkie X,  also from the RSPCA, and boy are they spoilt.
